Will Grimes joined the construction industry in 2005. He did a 4-year apprenticeship with Dale Johns of Earthrise Homes (earthrisehomes.com). There he learned the ins and outs of residential construction and was introduced to custom carpentry. Grimes Carpentry was established in 2009 with the vision of using materials and methods that are sustainable and environmentally conscious while also creating a quality product that will stand the test of time.

  On every new build we emphasize the reduction of energy consumption for the life of the home.
  This can be accomplished by:

  • Air sealing the building envelope to prevent direct air leaks

  • Using high quality windows that are strategically placed to maximize solar gain in the winter and minimize heat transfer in the summer

  • Building smart instead of big

  • Using natural materials

  • Using high efficiency appliances
